Sharing my experience with an online store
If tracking never updates for weeks, I start to worry about the order. Nobody wants pretty shoes that hurt after ten minutes of walking. A good store usually answers questions quickly and does not hide behind canned messages. If they ignore basic questions or reply with copy pasted text, I become suspicious. If you sit in front of a screen for many hours, these small features make a difference. If many different people say the same thing about a product, it is worth paying attention.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Reviews that mention long term use are more valuable than comments written on day one. It makes it easier to compare with an old pair of glasses that already fits well. For coats and blazers I usually go one size up if I want to layer sweaters under them. Sometimes one good quality item is better than five very cheap ones. For things that I use every day, I prefer to pay a bit more if the quality is stable. Price is important to me, but quality and comfort are even more important in the long run. I like when a shop clearly shows PD, lens height and bridge width in millimeters.
Hope this helps someone. |
